Challenges

The two Blocks A and B were installed on a rolling programme, only one month part.

A2O’s QA regime flagged up issues with the powder-coating of the aluminium panels.

For Block B access was problematic. Improvements were needed in ground conditions to work safely.

A further challenge was to accommodate late design changes without delaying the overall programme.

Solutions

A2O contracted an independent expert to investigate the powder-coating issue.  A2O’s quick and pro-active procurement of the new panels enabled the programme to be met.

A2O coordinated closely with the Main Contractor and other subcontractors on access and H&S over the limited space and use of cranes and towers.

A2O’s strong relationships with suppliers and their willingness to reduce normal lead times facilitated the additional orders. The changes were included  and the project still completed on time.
